Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. When she moved to Oxfordshire around the age of five, Emma attended The Dragon School. From the age of six Emma realized she would like to be an actor and for a number of years she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned the art of acting and dancing. By the time she turned 10, she had already taken part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. The casting process began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was identified by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight auditions consistently, director David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast for the roles of the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's cinematic screen debut. It broke all records in terms of the opening weekend and numbers, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three leading young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British newspaper, was awed by her for her performance. Emma later won five awards to honor her role in the film.
